God’s Faithfulness

“Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness. Morning by morning new mercies I see. All that I’ve needed, your hand hath provided, Great is your faithfulness, Lord unto me.”– words from one of my favorite hymns.

My blog is officially one year old. If you had told me on February 1, 2017, that this blog would still have been going one year later, I wouldn’t have believed it. But it has.

It wasn’t my idea to get it started. It wasn’t my idea it would go so long. It was God’s idea, and God promises to be faithful when we follow His leading. Over this year, I have learned so much about faith and life, and have enjoyed sharing it with you, my readers. Through joys and sorrows, and ordinary life in between, God has shown me that He is present in our lives every step of the way. I have just been a vehicle to share His words.

You see, I need to hear the words I write as much as anyone. I need to hear God’s calm and gentle voice, His loving presence, His forgiving nature. I re-read my posts at times, because I need to hear the words too. And they speak to me, they remind me of my humanity, my need for the living God. They invite me into the merciful and loving presence of Jesus Christ. Though I am a writer, it is God who truly is writing. It is His words that can change lives and transform, not mine. It is His words that deserve the glory, not mine. It is His words that work in our lives, bringing us from places of death into places of life. I am just lucky enough to be able to share them!

Thank you to all of of you who read this blog. I am humbled and honored that you would take time out of your busy days to read and reflect on my ordinary observations and God’s magnificent power. I cherish the replies, responses, and comments that you have shared with me. I am indebted to those of you who have encouraged me to keep going. That has been such a help to me!

And so we continue on, another year. What will God have to say to us this year? I don’t know, but I am excited to find out. And I am excited that you are on the journey of faith with me too!

Prayer—“God, you are so faithful. Even in our weakness, sin, and doubt, you bring light and life to our sometimes, drab and colorless lives. Ordinary lives become extraordinary because of you. You are so worthy to be praised! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
